This was the front cover i designed for my pre-lim task. The task was to create a front cover for a school magazine. My target audience were students in the school as well as anyone outside the school that may be interested in what's happening within the school.
From this image, you can see that this wasn't my first time using Photoshop as I have used quite a few techniques to enhance the image and make it look as professional as i could. However, you can also see that my Photoshop skills are very basic as there isn't anything that is impressive or advanced.
I was happy with the outcome of this front cover, however I wasn't fully pleased with it. This is becuase there are some things that i could have done to improve the quality and make it look more professional if i had more advanced kills with photoshop. For example i could have corrected the lighting issues in the dominant centre image. I could have also created a better background, which would make the magazine stand out more and look less simple and plain.
It is also missing a few of the key codes and conventions that should be on a magazine front cover, such as a barcode, price, date and website. Without all of these elements, the front cover looks unprofessional.
